Granning Group Announcement
Changes to DVSA Vehicle Conversion Regulations

Following approaches from Granning the UK DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency) have now relaxed the rules regarding conversions to vehicles first registered in UK post 29 Oct 2014.

They will allow conversions using previous levels of conformity to vehicles registered no less than 5 rolling calendar years.

This negates the requirement for Full Brake Approvals to be performed by a recognised testing authority.

The additional axle must have its own independent EBS controls, or be mated to the original vehicle’s EBS system with declaration from the chassis manufacturer.

Granning introduced the method of fitting an independent EBS system on the additional axle nearly 15 years ago.

We have an extensive library of case histories for various models of vehicles and different configurations, this system has been utilised over 1000 times during this period.

The management believes, this is a major breakthrough in allowing additional axle conversions to continue in the UK.
